Thailand has two seas with different seasons. Phuket, Krabi and Khao Lak are on the Andaman Sea. It is dry and calm from December to March; April is hot, and May to October is rainy, with downpours and waves on exposed beaches. Hotel rates are lower, sometimes almost half the price. Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand is sunny from February to September, with short afternoon showers in summer. The wettest period runs from late October to early January, peaking in November.

Bangkok and the north are best from November to February, when it is drier and less hot. Rates are highest from December to February. March and April offer the best balance of weather and price, while Koh Samui suits summer beach holidays.

The Andaman Sea has Phang Nga Bay's rocky islands and sunsets over the water. The Similan Islands are open for diving and snorkelling from mid-October to mid-May. Flights from Moscow to Phuket are direct; Khao Lak is around an hour's drive from the airport. Krabi, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Lanta are chosen for seclusion, with part of the journey by boat.

Koh Samui lies in the Gulf of Thailand and is reached via Bangkok. Its main advantage is that in summer, when the Andaman Sea is rainy, Koh Samui is mostly sunny. We therefore choose the coast to suit your dates.

Direct flights from Moscow to Phuket and Bangkok take around nine hours. Connecting options run via Dubai, Istanbul or Chinese cities. They take longer but offer more departure times and cabin classes. There are no direct flights from Moscow to Koh Samui: as with Krabi, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, the onward journey is a domestic flight from Bangkok, taking an hour to an hour and a half.

Allow time for a connection: missing it can mean a night in Bangkok, and boats to islands run to a schedule.

No. Under the agreement between the countries, from 15 September 2026 Russian citizens may stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days. The previous 60-day period no longer applies. A valid international passport is required; airlines may require at least six months of remaining validity.

Complete the electronic TDAC arrival card no earlier than three days before arrival. The card is free and should be completed only on the official immigration website. We send the link and remind you of the deadline.

It depends on the hotel's location. Drives to Phuket resorts usually take less than an hour, Khao Lak around an hour, and Bangkok's Chao Phraya hotels 40 minutes to an hour. For Koh Yao Noi, Railay and Koh Lanta, take a car to the jetty, then a boat. Six Senses Yao Noi requires half an hour by car and 40 minutes by boat; Rayavadee takes 20 minutes for each leg.

Domestic flights from Bangkok serve Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Trat for Koh Kood hotels, and Chiang Rai for the Golden Triangle. A car or boat follows. Hotel boats run to a schedule and not at night, so for late arrivals we book a mainland overnight stay or a car with a ferry in advance and include it with the transfer in the proposal.

Yes. Spend two or three days on Bangkok's Chao Phraya before or after the beach, or visit the north, Chiang Mai and the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. Domestic flights between parts of the trip take an hour to an hour and a half. We coordinate them with transfers and check-in times and combine everything into one proposal.

The best time for the north is November to February, when it is drier and cooler. This coincides with the Andaman Sea's dry season.

Yes, but hotels differ considerably. Some have a children's club, children's pool and two-bedroom villas; others welcome children but have neither a club nor a children's pool, which is best known in advance. The beach also matters: exposed Andaman Sea beaches can have strong waves during the rainy season.

With young children, hotels reached solely by car without a boat, and direct flights without a connection, are more convenient. We select according to the children's ages.

The price usually includes accommodation and breakfast. The following are most often charged separately:

• 10% service charge and 7% VAT if the hotel rate is marked with two plus signs
• Airport transfers, although some hotels include them in the stay
• Domestic flights to Koh Samui, Trat, Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai
• Restaurant dinners, drinks, spa, excursions and boat trips
• Festive dinners at Christmas and on New Year's Eve

Breakfast-only stays are more common in Thailand's premium hotels: Phuket, Koh Samui and Bangkok have many good restaurants nearby, so there is no need to dine at the hotel every night. Half-board or full-board packages are convenient where a hotel is secluded and neighbouring restaurants are reached by boat. We quote both options and show the price difference.
